Congratulations to the owners of the Courier for reaching such a magnificent milestone. Happy days back then and now more opportunities and more happiness for the extended family. We as a community cherish our Courier very much.

Good news for many on the North Coast is the announcement of three Pilot Blue Flag Beaches. Maybe the Willard Beach pick is opportunistic because the newly formed UIP could piggy back on this and really hit the ground running.

All indications are that preparations for the functioning of the UIP will begin on November 16. This whole initiative is both necessary and welcomed by the majority of our lovely coastal town and I can only see vast gains for everyone.

Our civic building in Ballito has had a tidy up but no news on the future of this derelict building. The municipality has by-laws about derelict buildings so maybe they should issue a fine against themselves. By the way, there are also people sleeping in the upstairs portion and your building files are still lying in a heap on the floor in a very insecure park home.

Can the Executive Director please step up and account and NOT hide behind a communications director’s drivel.

A final divulge is that a shopping centre has been approved in Salt Rock – the corner of Sheffield turn and Dunkirk Estate. Apparently all systems go for and early start in January 2016 with a circle and robots and widening of road past Brettenwood.

I wonder what happened to the Tiffanys/Mascor robots? Can someone enlighten us?
