Sharks players join in on the fun at beach day to launch new Salt Rock City development

Jordan Hendrikse and brothers Vincent and Manu Tshituka played a bit of touch rugby and helped judge the sand-castle building competition.

Families flocked to Salt Rock main beach on Sunday for a fun beach day, hosted by Devmco Group to promote their upcoming development, Salt Rock City.

The development is launching on March 29. The event brought the community together with activities like volleyball, beach soccer, and touch rugby.

A major highlight was the appearance of Sharks rugby stars Jordan Hendrikse and brothers Vincent and Manu Tshituka, who signed autographs, posed for photos, and joined kids in a lively game of touch rugby.

The trio also judged the sandcastle-building competition, crowning nine-year-old Lee-Anne Coetzer as the winner. She took home a R1 000 shopping voucher for Salt Rock City Shopping Centre, though she humbly credited her sisters and a friend for their help.

The beach touch rugby was very competitive, especially between the Sharks’ players.

Devmco’s commercial director, Brad Winstanley, was thrilled with the community turnout, saying, “We wanted to create a great vibe, and having the Sharks players here made the day even more special.”

Salt Rock City Development sales director, Peter Cameron, said the beach was the perfect venue to hold a family event and inform the locals of the company’s plans.

“We are building a new development in the Salt Rock area, so we wanted to connect with the people and families in the community, and Salt Rock beach is where the locals all hang out.”
