Dance maestros turn up the heat in Dirty Dancing showstopper

Reproduction of the movie hit a sold-out affair.

The Van den Berg couple will represent South Africa at an international dance competition in Russia next month.

The Pumpkin Theatre was infused with high-voltage energy recently when Ballito dance maestros Elena and Ryno van den Berg presented a reproduction of the 1987 movie hit, Dirty Dancing.

The sold-out show featured Ryno as Patrick Swayze and Elena as Jennifer Grey.

The mambo, paso doble and jive extravaganza was supplemented by delicious finger foods and live music.

A wine auction was also held to help raise funds for the Van den Berg couple to represent South Africa at the Kremlin Cup international dance competition in Russia next month.
