Ten Curro Salt Rock pupils will compete at the World Robotics Olympiad (WRO) national finals at Curro Aurora in Randburg, Gauteng on September 13-14.
The victorious teams will earn the honor of representing South Africa at the international finals in Izmir, Turkey, in November.
The high school’s teams will be represented by Deeya Moodley (Grade 8) and Sheyal Nair (Grade 8), who have achieved the impressive feat of ranking first in the country in the Explorer Prime category, joined by Asher Bharuth (Grade 9), Marcel van der Linde (Grade 8) and Arsam Sheibani (Grade 8), who are ranked 18th nationally in the Robomission junior category.
The primary school team is made up of Layton Dhaver (Grade 4) and Kyle Dutton (Grade 4) who will be competing in the Explorer Lite category, in which they are currently ranked 23rd in the country.
In the Robomission Elementary category, Ria Hiralal (Grade 6), Quinn Botha (Grade 6) and Kelsey Mallett (Grade 6), are ranked 15th nationally.
