Brisk voting in Ballito’s Ward 6 by-election
Voting at the Ballito Library will continue until 9pm tonight.
Almost a thousand voters have already cast their votes by this afternoon in the Ballito Ward 6 by-election at the Ballito Library.
Yesterday, 52 residents took advantage of the special voting opportunity.
The Electoral Commission of South Africa said there are 4 883 registered voters.
Only two parties are contesting the by-election – the DA, whose candidate is Ayabonga Zwane, and the ANC’s Silindile Ngcobo.
This by-election follows the vacancy left by previous Ward 6 councillor Tammy Colley who was moved to the provincial legislature after the national elections in May.
