Curro Salt Rock’s first musical production was a perfect blend of nostalgia, talent, and rock ‘n roll energy, leaving the audience cheering for more.
The Rock of Ages: Teen Edition Musical brought the house down over three electrifying nights from 14-16 August. Directed by Sean Friedenthal and Alicia Fox, the show was filled with iconic ’80s hits, impressive choreography and powerful storytelling. The cast included Pieter Engelbrecht, Meeka Rose Hornabrook, Cara Dippenaar, Shiloh Jayakaran, Luka Venter, Kaila Talanda, Maya Talanda, Nikala Fortmann, Amahle Jali, Sithabile Mthiyane, Hayley Hlelaas, Yolanda Khanyile, Kemp Venter, Jacinda Coetzer, Delite Mwoffati, Leana Masinga and Lia Masinga.
When reflecting on the success of the show, Friedenthal said he was proud of how the pupils performed on stage.
“The greatest reward was seeing these students bloom as confident artists. They discovered their talent and embraced confidence on stage, and that’s what truly matters,” he said.
