Sistas power up positive energy

KwaDukuza Women's Day event celebrates female emancipation.

A day of reflection and celebrating the emancipation of women marked a Women’s Day event at the KwaDukuza town hall. Appropriately themed “Nganele – I Am Enough,” it featured a dynamic mix of panel discussions, comedy and music to highlight the diverse realities of women in our society.

Khanyi Mhlongo, Valentia Mthembu, Nonto Mhlongo and Nokuthula Gumede.

The theme “Nganele” can be interpreted in two ways – a declaration of women acknowledging their strengths, or a statement from women who are tired of the injustices they face in society.

The panel discussion included influential figures such as businesswoman Norma Mngoma, Dr Lelo Nkosi-Ntombela, author and actress Ayanda Borotho, pastor Lungi M and BMW Ballito representative Ayanda Mntambo, each sharing their unique perspectives.

Nkule Champion, Nomthandazo Mazibuko, Samuke Mngoma, Nothando Mngoma, Nombuso Champion and Nhlaka Mbatha.

The panel tackled significant themes such as healing, the art of letting go and gender inequality.

KwaDukuza mayor Lindile Nhaca also addressed the audience, acknowledging there was still a long way for women to go to achieve total freedom.
