Ballito scouts assemble Jars of Hope for Mandela Day

The jars, containing meal ingredients, was cooked on Saturday to feed community members at the Thembeni Centre in Groutville.

As its Mandela Day project, the 1st Ballito Scouts group assembled 41 Jars of Hope which were handed over to the Vision 153 organisation on Saturday.

Scout cubs completed the project during their first term meeting on July 8.

In scouting, the importance of service to others is emphasised, showing that even the smallest contribution can make a meaningful difference.

The Jars of Hope, containing meal ingredients, will be cooked this Saturday to feed community members at the Thembeni Centre in Groutville.

Pack scouter Wendy Mayer thanked Elaleni Lifestyle Estate and Elaleni Coastal Forest Estate for their contributions towards this initiative.
