King Shaka Airport police aid tornado-ravaged Magwaveni community

Airport police, AFM Kingdom Worship Centre and Crawford International La Lucia Pre-Primary School dedicated 67 minutes to support the tornado-hit Magwaveni community in Tongaat.

King Shaka International Airport police spent their 67 minutes helping out the tornado-ravaged community of Magwaveni in Tongaat.

As part of Mandela Day last week, staff from King Shaka Saps handed over donated food and clothing to those desperate for aid.

Clothing donations were made by AFM Kingdom Worship Centre of Umlazi and members of King Shaka Saps, while non-perishable food was donated by Crawford International La Lucia Pre-Primary.

Saps’ Valery Govender hands over a non-perishable food parcel in Magwaveni.

King Shaka Saps support commander, lieutenant colonel Vellem, initiated the project and was responsible for organising the donations and outreach.

She said it was the responsibility of those not affected by disasters in a community to give back and help those in need.

Her efforts were applauded by unit commander, colonel MJ Moloto.
