A heartwarming display of solidarity took place at Sugar Rush Park as residents gathered to raise funds for the Tongaat tornado victims.
Hundreds took part in activities at Holla Trails, including a 6km walk, a 10km run and a 22km cycle on Monday morning.
The event aimed to raise R50 000 and collect essential items such as blankets, nappies, tinned food and dog food to support those affected by the disaster.
Tongaat was the hardest-hit area, with the tornado damaging hundreds of houses and leaving thousands homeless.
At least twenty schools were either damaged or destroyed and twelve people lost their lives.
Currently, the estimated cost of the damage exceeds R1.3-billion for the entire province, with eThekwini Metro alone accounting for over R480-million.
