Miss Ballito top ten revealed

The pageant looks for young women who are agents of positive change.

The battle for the Miss Ballito 2024 title is on with the finalists announced at the weekend.

The 10 local beauties who made the cut are: Khethiwe Dhlamini, Gabriella Ferreira, Kwanele Khoza, Cara Nigrini, Alexia Minnie, Tiarah Thanapalan, Yuvika Govender, Chané van der Westhuizen, Georgia de Ponselle and Annabelle Pillay.

The pageant, which is a Rotary Zimbali fundraising initiative, is not only about glitz and glamour, but it also looks for young women who are agents of positive change.

The top 10 must now execute a charity project and find sponsors.

“Funds raised go to Rotary-approved charities, including The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, and since its inception in 2011 more than R900 000 has been allocated to various charities,” said event coordinator Heidie Smith.

Finalists will also participate in a mentorship programme with workshops covering topics such as financial management, life coaching, social media etiquette, health, self-defense and self-love.

“A photo shoot, radio interviews, a weekend workshop with some inspirational guest speakers and life coaches as well as the final ‘Cocktail and Crowning Evening’ are all events that our finalists are super excited about,” said Smith.
