Ballito Adventure Race raises over R12K for Sables Creatures spay clinic

The animal rescue organisation's mission is vaccinating against rabies and conducting sterilisations.

People came out in numbers – and colourful costumes – for the Sables Creatures Adventure Race fundraiser in Ballito on Saturday.

The Salty Cracks – Natasha Strong, Aldine Armstrong, Heidi Mitchell, JP Mitchell and (front) Spiderman, Vika Thusi.

The event raised more than R12 000, which will help cover the costs of an upcoming Sables Creatures spay clinic in Driefontein.

Sables Creatures is an animal rescue organisation with the main objective of vaccinating against rabies and conducting sterilisations.

They also provide medical assistance and food to animals in need and educate residents on how to value and treat animals with respect and kindness.

Seema Duwarkah of Sables Creatures expressed her gratitude to Brendon and Charmaine Power from Mersat Electronics for organising the event.

She also thanked local businesses, volunteers and the community for their support.
