Taxi rolls near Darnall, 14 injured

The fire department was called to free some passengers who had become trapped.

Two people were critically injured after a taxi left the road and rolled on the R102 near Darnall this morning.

The accident happened just before 7.30am and there appears to have been no other vehicles involved.

“On arrival medics found multiple patients and entrapments and immediately activated additional resources,” said IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson, Samantha Meyrick.

“While under the care of medics, Rural Metro Fire worked to extricate trapped patients.”

Aside from those critically injured, five people had serious injuries while the remaining escaped with minor injuries.

The road was initially partially blocked but has since been cleared and is open to traffic.
