Heat up the tyres, Sables Creatures’ annual rally is back

The event will raise funds for a township sterilisation programme in June.

Start your engines and get ready to rally for a good cause, Sables Creatures’ annual adventure race is back!

The race around Ballito will get the green flag next Saturday (May 25) and offers a fantastic day of fun for the whole family, while raising funds for the animal support organisation.

Teams of between two and five people per car will make their way through the town, taking on challenges as they go in a bid to be crowned Sables Rally champion for 2024.

You are encouraged to dress up too and this year’s theme is Heroes and Villains. So make sure you engage your inner Superman or Joker and come prepared to compete until the very end. Entry costs R70 per person before the event or R80 on the day, with children under 10 entering free.

Registration is at Townsend Park and opens at 8am with tyres hitting the tarmac from 9am.

Funds raised from the event will go directly towards supporting the work of Sables Creatures across the North Coast.

The group will be running a three-day township sterilisation programme in June and are hoping to raise R47 000 to spay 45 dogs.

Sables managed 39 sterilisations at a clinic in February and is doing their best to curb unchecked breeding in stray animal populations. It is an important but expensive mission and Sables is completely reliant on fundraising and donations to keep its work going.

So come along for some fun on Saturday, knowing your registration fee will make a genuine difference in the world.

Contact Michelle at 083 997 4667 or sablescreatures@gmail.com to secure your registration or visit sablescreatures.online to find out more about the work they do.
