More pain at the pumps as April petrol increase kicks in tonight

The latest petrol price increases will come into effect at midnight.

With yet another petrol price increase on the cards and the recent hike in toll tariffs, motorists will have to further tighten their belts.

While there will be some reprieve for drivers of diesel vehicles, petrol users will not be so lucky.

According to unaudited mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF), ULP95 could increase by 10c/litre, while ULP93 is likely to rise by 9c/litre.

The price of wholesale diesel could drop by around 34c/litre, while illuminating paraffin could be slashed by 47c/litre.
