New private school confirmed for North Coast

Salt Rock College will be situated in the area between the P228 (Flag Farm road) and N2, which is planned as a mixed use site in conjunction with Collins Residential's neighbouring Seaton and Lalela estates.

A new private school is coming to Sheffield and will cater for Grades 000 through 12.

Developed by Collins Residential between the P228 and the N2, Salt Rock College is expected to be ready by 2027.

The school had long been rumoured for the area and was confirmed as part of future development plans at various Collins Residential events last year.

But details were scarce until this week when the school was officially launched.

“Part of our attractiveness on the North Coast is the holistic offering enjoyed here, and we have been working on attracting development partners in the educational space for some time,” said Collins Residential CEO, Murray Collins.

“While we aren’t at liberty to announce the name of the institution that will be delivering a new school in our area just yet, we can share that the vision is to offer a transformative educational experience that is tailored to meet the needs of a rapidly growing population.”

Research indicates that between 45 and 65 families are moving to the North Coast monthly and that growing community will need to be supported by quality schools.

Salt Rock College will sit in the area between the P228 (Flag Farm road) and N2, which is planned as a mixed use site in conjunction with Collins Residential’s neighbouring Seaton and Lalela Estates.

Aside from the school, there will be retail, commercial and residential projects.

“The aim is to create a school with a holistic offering promoting timeless values that embrace recent developments in technology to make learning more effective,” said Collins Residential Managing Director, Geoff Perkins.

“The team involved in shaping the school are in the final throes of finalising a board of governors, the members of which have decades of experience in the education realm between them and who will oversee the development of the school.”
