Ballito women to gather on March 1 for World Day of Prayer

Women worldwide will come together to pray for global peace.

Women of the world are invited to join together to pray for world peace.

The Ballito Women’s World Day of Prayer service will this year be held at All Souls Anglican Church in Salt Rock on Friday, March 1 at 10am.

Every year the worldwide event is devised and planned by a different denomination in a different country.

By strange coincidence this year it is the turn of the Palestinian Christian women, although preparation plans were under way well before the outbreak of hostilities following the October 7 attack in Israel.

The theme for the prayer day, “I beg you… Bear with one another with Love” is based on Ephesians 4: 2 and 3 – “Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

The service promises to be rich in imagery, reflecting the fruits, spices and herbs of the Holy Land where the olive tree grows, symbolic of deep roots, longevity, peace and healing.

All Souls looks forward to welcoming Christian women and men of every denomination to this celebration of worship, joining in prayer and action during these troubled times and praying for peace.
