Protec titan Marion Takis set to retire

Protec Tongaat’s highly respected branch manager, Marion Takis, is retiring in February.
The announcement was made by her assistant manager, Anna-Maria Mkhize, during the Protec awards at Tongaat Secondary School hall last Friday.
Throughout her tenure, Takis played a pivotal role in shaping education, not only in Tongaat but across the iLembe district.
Her leadership was defined by a unique combination of vision and empathy, envisioning a community where education goes beyond traditional boundaries, offering opportunities to all.
One noteworthy initiative was implementing vocational training programmes, providing students with essential practical skills for the ever-changing job market.
“My heart is heavy but also overflowing with gratitude to have been allowed to work for such an incredible organisation,” said Takis.
She emphasised her passion for Protec, highlighting the positive impact it makes on people’s lives.
