Share festive cheer on the North Coast with Santa Shoebox

Completed boxes can be delivered to Ballito's drop off zone at the Vered Estates offices at Warne House, 7 Garlicke Drive from now until October 25.

Santa Shoebox is back to spread Christmas cheer this year and you can help!

Now in its 18th year, the programme has reached over 1.15-million children who may otherwise have gone without gifts.

With your help however, children in the surrounding communities of the North Coast can have their own visit from Santa and something to look forward to this festive season.

The Ballito Santa Shoebox Project is completely volunteer-driven and hopes to reach 2 000 children this year, which means every gift counts.

Gift boxes must be decorated on the outside and easily opened, with a self-printed gift box label attached.

The label is found by logging onto santashoebox.org.za, where you can register and select the name and age of the child to help with decisions on gifts.

Completed boxes can be delivered to Ballito’s drop off zone at the Vered Estates offices at Warne House, 7 Garlicke Drive, between October 16 and 25.

You can also drop off boxes at Crawford International North Coast on 26 and 27 October between 9am and 4pm, and on October 27 between 9am and 2pm.

What to put in the box:

• Toothpaste and toothbrush
• Facecloth
• Soap
• Sweets
• Educational supplies
• A toy
• An outfit of clothing (T-shirt and shorts/skirt; please check sizing on gift label)

If you are unable to put together a box but are still looking to be involved, you can contribute a virtual box at santashoebox.org.za. Boxes cost R450.

The Ballito Santa Shoebox Project would also be grateful for any of the relevant items to be sent separately in a plastic bag if a full box cannot be completed.
