Fill a Santa Shoebox and be one in a million

As part of its quest to deliver a Christmas present to as many children as possible, the organisation focuses on reaching areas and communities that may be overlooked by bigger non-profit organisations.

It’s Santa Shoebox season again, and this year the organisation is primed to deliver its millionth box.

Now in its 15th year, the initiative has delivered 957 297 boxes to underprivileged children across South Africa and in Namibia.

As more than 100 000 boxes are distributed every year, the 1 million mark will be passed in the course of this year’s drive.

As part of its quest to deliver a Christmas present to as many children as possible, the organisation focuses on reaching areas and communities that may be overlooked by bigger non-profit organisations.

The boxes are a now familiar part of the year-end schedule, but for those who have not yet had a chance to be a part of the initiative, there is a specific list of items that can be included.

There is also a specific way that the boxes must be wrapped, and the organisation partnered with Suzelle DIY to make an instructional video which can be found on the Santa Shoebox.

The Ballito drop-off station is at Curro Mount Richmore, but virtual pledges are also available for those who are not able to make the drop off times.

These pledges cost R400 per box.

Boxes can be delivered to Curro Mount Richmore school from 5 – 7 November 2020, with all non-Curro participants dropping their boxes outside the school gates at the Santa Shoebox station.
