Ballito churches join Angus Buchan’s national prayer day in Bloemfontein

More than a million South Africans of all genders, races and denominations are expected to heed Buchan's call to prayer

Dolphin Coasters will be joining more than a million Christians from across the country who are flocking to Bloemfontein this weekend.

The occasion, Angus Buchan’s “It’s time” day of prayer on Saturday, is expected to draw a crowd of over a million South Africans.

“After 22 April, South Africa will be a changed country,” said Angus Buchan.

The gathering will take place on a farm 4 km outside Bloemfontein and aims to be the largest day of prayer in the history of South Africa.

The fields outside Bloemfontein prepared for the arrival of more than a million people.

About 150 members of Linc church in Salt Rock and more from Grace church Ballito and Destiny Life Gledhow are amoung the local churches that will be represented in Bloemfontein tomorrow.

Linc church’s campus pastor Mark Slevin said they had hired a bus and many more of their members were carpooling together for the long drive.

“We are leaving this evening and driving through the night to be there at 5am tomorrow,” he said.

Slevin said as a church they fully supported the event.

“It is time for our nation to stand together in prayer.

“When we gather together in unity to pray then God commands a blessing.

“We will be praying for our country and our government,” said Slevin.

He said more than 1,7 million people had already signed up for the event on iTicket.

The seed for the gathering was planted when a Whatsapp video did the rounds with a desperate outcry for Buchan or any other spiritual leader in South Africa to intervene and arrange such an event.

When Buchan replied by posting a video on social media, he received 1,8 million responses within hours.

“The day of prayer is intended for all South Africans of all genders, races and denominations who are concerned about the malice, hatred, violence, murder and corruption in the country,” said Buchan.

“22 April will be a day much talked about by generations to come.

“Be part of the future and come and join us in prayer.”
