Shaka’s Head protest alert

Police recommend that people use alternative roads

Following the violent showdown earlier this week at Shaka’s Head that closed the N2 and R102, a community meeting will be held on Saturday, February 27 at the Shaka’s Head sports field, which may lead to more protests.

The link road between the N2 and R102 at Shaka’s Head will not officially be closed, but Captain Yogendran Maharaj from the Umhlali SAPS advised people to avoid the road and the area on Saturday and Sunday in case violence does erupt.

He recommended that people use alternative roads via Ballito or Salt Rock instead.

It has not yet been confirmed whether KwaDukuza Mayor, Ricardo Mthembu will address the meeting.
