Police minister to lead crime imbizo on North Coast

Minister will address the crime plaguing areas like KwaDukuza, Ndwedwe, Mandeni and Maphumulo.

Police minister Nathi Nhleko will visit Ballito and Groutville on Friday, November 13 as part of a public engagement against crime in KwaDukuza, Ndwedwe, Mandeni and Maphumulo areas.

The crime imbizo will focus on politically motivated violence, taxi wars, illegal firearms and community faction fights.

Along with the police minister the KZN premier Senzo Mchunu, MEC for transport, community safety and liaison Willies Mchunu and KwaDukuza mayor Ricardo Mthembu will also take part in the day’s events to respond to some issues and concerns.

After a breakfast meeting with various stakeholders in Ballito, the public can meet with the group at Thembeni Sports Field in Groutville at 10am.
