The South African Weather Service has warned of gale force winds between 35 to 40 knots to hit the KwaZulu-Natal coast today.
Aslam Sardiwalla of the SA Weather Service based at King Shaka International Airport said the wind already reached 35 knots in Durban and at the airport.
He said the strong winds will already be felt in Umdloti to Ballito as it moves up north.
There is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms.
A message has been circulating on social messaging forums, warning people to take care as the winds can cause some damage.
Be aware when travelling of fallen branches, trees and other debris.
Try and stay indoors and keep the windows closed.
