Siza promises water for Ballito CBD soon

VIDEO: Brown water at Ballito Business Park.

Sembcorp Siza Water hopes to restore water to the Ballito Business Park within the hour.

This was according to the water provider’s HR manager Heather Joffe.

Joffe said there had been a water shut down last night in order to tie in a new pipe line.

“When they switched the water on this morning the new valve was found to be leaking. So the water had to be switched off again to replace the valve,” she said.

Affected businesses include the Virgin Active Gym, the Lifestyle Centre and the business centers behind Lifestyle.

Some businesses have also reported dirty water from their taps this morning.

In order to restore clean drinking water Sembcorp Siza Water has been flushing the lines to remove the muddy water from the system.

This is why water has been seen pouring from fire hydrants behind Lifestyle and near the Food Lovers Market.

Ballito plumber Barry Chapman captured this footage of brown water from the taps in the Ballito Business Park before the water stopped completely this morning.
