The protest action and public vandalism in Tongaat was allegedly sparked by the deaths of three people yesterday.
Netcare 911 responded to the incident, where three men aged between 16 and 23-years-old were killed by electrocution in Emona, outside Tongaat.
he cause of the accident has yet to be established and is under investigation by the police.
This morning, residents and business owners found the street trashed with several small fires started on the pavements.
The situation on the Tongaat Main Road is still tense, as residents continue protesting.
