Salt Rock beach reopens to bathers

No ablution facilities at Salt Rock beach.

Salt Rock beach was closed to bathers this morning, allegedly due to there being no the ablution facilities.

However the lifeguards reopened the beach at about midday.

According to Ward 22 committee member Di Jones the public are now being asked to cross the road and use the toilets at the Salt Rock Library.

“It appears work is at a halt on the new ablution block, which does not differ very much from the old one, and has been for a week or so. It is totally unacceptable for people to be told they cannot use the beach because there are no facilities,” said Jones.

According to Jones, porter loos were available during the school holidays but they were removed earlier this week.
