The African National Congress (ANC) is going all out for victory in the upcoming ward 22 by-election.

The Democratic Alliance’s Malcolm Hubner is going up against the ANC’s Rigby Heenan in the by-election, which takes place on Wednesday, July 2.

Both parties are battling it out to govern KwaDukuza municipality’s biggest ward, encompassing Tinley Manor, Salt Rock, Sheffield, Nkobongo and Shakaskraal.

Heenan hosted a meet and greet at the Litchi Orchard last Thursday night, to outline his plan for the ward should he be elected.

The event was attended by ANC top brass, including MECs Cyril Xaba and Dr Mike Mabuyakhulu.

Heenan said the event was a success and thanked all those who attended.

“To help the ward I need a mandate from the people. I am trusting the community will use its vote wisely.”
