A major fault on the main 33kva feeder to Ballito has left the area without power since last night.
According to Ward 6 Councillor Colin Marsh, the fault is serious and could take up until 6pm to fix.
“I spoke to Nick Hall last night and he confirmed that the cable feeding Ballito is badly damaged,” said Marsh.
Hall, the KwaDukuza municipality Technical Services electrical engineer, told Marsh that Alberlito hospital and the shopping centres in Ballito are being fed power throughout day.
Marsh could not confirm what had caused the fault.
Marsh said that only Ballito is affected, Salt Rock still has power.
