Bring on the Pro

Media and partners were given a taste of what's to come at this year's Mr Price Pro Ballito

Members of the media, guests, sponsors and partners were given a glimpse of what the 2014 Mr Price Pro will bring to Ballito this year at a breakfast at The Boathouse hotel this morning.

The 2014 ASP Prime surfing event will call Ballito home for the fifth consecutive year and there is no doubt that the event will build on what has been a successful five years on the North Coast.

Dignitaries from a number of organisations including the KwaDukuza Municipality, Mr Price and the Lifestyle Centre to name but a few, were given a wrap up of last year’s event.

Key speakers Graham Daniel, Mr Price’s events director, RedCap Foundation manager Mark Eslick and KwaDukuza mayor Ricardo Mthembu spoke about the event’s successes over the last five years.

Some interesting statistics were pulled out on last years edition, which saw over 100 000 people at the festival during the week.

The festival will run from June 30 to July 6. Once again, 96 surfers from 18 countries will compete for a cool R2.7 million prize-purse and crucial points which will help them qualify for the elite ASP World Championship Tour in 2015.
