According to a press release from Eskom, the energy company has implemented rotational load shedding nation wide since 8am this morning due to high electricity demands.
Areas of KwaDukuza are set to be affected, possibly for two to three hours at a time, though according to KDM Technical Services electrical engineer, Nick Hall, the time of load shedding in the area is not something that can be predicted at this point.
Eskom urged consumers to turn off geysers, pool pumps, and other non-essential appliances during the day.
The company said it anticipates load shedding will go on until 10pm tonight, however they would terminate the load shedding process earlier should they receive the necessary electricity savings from consumers.
