240 students from across the municipality have received brand new school uniforms.

The annual KwaDukuza Municipality (KDM) dress a child campaign has concluded, with brand new uniforms distributed to 240 pupils.

The programme began in 2013 and has reached a number of schools that fall under KwaDukuza jurisdiction, with 16 primary schools receiving donations in 2021.

The Chief Whip of Council, Cllr. Dumisani Ndimande at Allen Gumede Primary School, Ward 1.

Fifteen deserving students from each school were selected, starting Mgqwabagqwaba Primary in ward 1 and concluding with Tinley Manor Primary in ward 7.

They each received a full uniform consisting of two shirts, two pairs of socks, jersey, shoes, trousers for boys and tunic for girls at a cost of R180 000 to KDM.

The programme was a huge success, benefiting the most deserving learners that mainly reside in rural areas and attend farm schools with little funding.
