The Maphumulo municipality recently welcomed Phakama Mhlongo to take the reins as the new municipal manager.
Mhlongo replaced Christian Mhlongo, who has served as acting municipal manager for the past year.
A new director of corporate services, Thulani Khuluse was also recently appointed following the termination of the previous director’s contract.
Maphumulo mayor Zibuyisile Khuzwayo-Dlamini welcomed Mhlongo and Khuluse and said she looked forward to working with them.
“I encourage the community of Maphumulo to support both the new municipal manager and the new director of corporate services and give them the time and patience needed in order to strengthen our municipality.
“It is important to have the right leadership in our municipality to move our organisation towards ensuring that we meet our IDP and service delivery targetsI fully trust our leadership, and by working together we will become stronger and continue to move Maphumulo forward.”
The mayor also thanked Christian Mhlongo for his services.
