Taking the bull by the horns at Enterprise Ilembe

Nkosinathi Nkomzwayo has recently been appointed as the new CEO of Enterprise Ilembe

A train cannot move without a head and with the aim of driving the Ilembe region to greater heights, Nkosinathi Nkomzwayo has recently been appointed as the new CEO of Enterprise Ilembe.

The economic development agency announced their new leader last Wednesday as the man tasked to steer the ship, filling the position of CEO that has been open for more than a year.

Calm and confident, Nkomzwayo has more than 18 years experience in the manufacturing industry with ten years experience within private and state owned entities.

Welcoming him to the family, Enterprise Ilembe board chairperson Khanyisani Shandu said Nkomzwayo was selected from a strong field of candidates with his excellent track record and experience giving him a competitive edge.

“We are confident that Nathi is the right candidate to strategically lead the agency to meet it’s mandate of driving economic development and promoting trade and investment in the Ilembe region.”

Tackling poverty, unemployment and inequality are just a few of Nkomzwayo’s goals.

“This we can do by implementing national and provincial policies and programs that speak to radical economic transformation,” he said.

With his primary focus being development, Nkomzwayo said he thought the agency was situated in a prime area with demographics working in their favor.

“We have a number of young people that give us an advantage yet the unemployment rate is still high. In Ilembe we have everything that points to economic development and we will implement strategies in line with government policies to achieve success. One of the aims on our IDP is to establish a fully fledged incubator that will support the businesses in the region.

“This will not just make sure that they have tax clearance but we are talking about ensuring that people are technically skilled because our focus is on industrialisation.”
