SALGA Games kick off with massive parade

Athletes urged to give their best for the games.

More then 10 000 athletes from across KZN brought the streets of KwaDukuza to a standstill with a parade from South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) Park for the official opening of the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) Games on Thursday night, December 10.

The parade was led by a group of bikers and mayor of KwaDukuza, Ricardo Mthembu.

Mthembu urged all athletes to perform to the best of their ability when they compete.

“There is a chance to move up to a professional level if you perform well in these games,” said Mthembu.

The games started today and will end on Sunday, December 13.
