Tongaat police make swift arrest after fatal stabbing

The murder suspect remains under police guard in hospital.

A 33-year-old man was stabbed to death during a fight at Jans Corner in Frazers on Sunday.

Tongaat police spokesperson, Captain Jasanathan Naidoo, said the deceased was found with multiple stab wounds in the head and back.

The murder was reported around 1pm and a manhunt was immediately launched.

“Tongaat investigating detectives, warrant officers AR Parsuramen and S Moodley immediately went to the Tongaat clinic where they found the suspect with the murder weapon in his possession,” said Naidoo.

The man allegedly suffered injuries during an altercation with the deceased. He was detained at Tongaat police station before being taken to hospital for medical attention, where he remains under police guard.
