Dermology has been nominated in the Best of Ballito competition

Focusing on the medical laser side of skin care, Dermology works closely with dermatologists and aesthetic doctors who refer patients to them for specialist treatment of stubborn conditions such as rosacea, melasma and hormonal pigmentation, as well as sun damage, pigmentation and freckles.

As one of the first companies to bring US made Sciton equipment to South Africa, the results have been nothing short of astonishing – not only in terms of treating skin conditions but also anti-ageing.

Dermology’s CEO and owner, award-winning practice manager and laser and skin specialist of more than 19 years, Lourette du Toit joined the brand 11 years ago in Sandton, when they opened their doors.

Later she became the proud owner and began to branch out the brand throughout South Africa.

Today, Dermology has three more branches in Paarl, Pretoria and right here in Ballito.

Ballito clinic manager and laser specialist Liza Parker said before opening in Ballito, they had clients from the greater Durban area flying up to Johannesburg for their highly specialised treatments.

Growing up, Parker came to Ballito on holiday and eventually saw the business potential of opening a branch in the fastest developing node in the country.

Sun damage is no match for Dermology’s highly specialised treatments.

With 15 years industry experience, six of which with Dermology, Parker’s clients are in expert hands.

Joined by skin therapist Akwande Goge who has eight years industry experience, including four years working side-by-side with an aesthetic doctor in Umhlanga, it is easy to see why Dermology Ballito has nearly doubled in size since opening its doors a mere 15 months ago.

Parker said Dermology was one of the first clinics in South Africa to offer the “Rolls Royce” quartet of laser treatments comprising of Nano Micro Laser Peals, Moxi, Broad Band Light (BBL), and Profractional treatments.

She added that Dr Paul Nassif, renowned American facial plastic surgeon and co-host of the popular E! reality series, Botched, also used Moxi and BBL at his practice.

Moxi is particularly revolutionary as it results in significantly less down time and is suited to Fitzpatrick skin types one to six (from very fair to very dark).

However, she said Dermology’s combination treatments were their signature offerings. One of these is the South Beach peal which is a combination of BBL and Nano in one session. The other two are Boxi and Synergy. All treatments performed are consultation dependent so as to ensure best practice.
