Time to rock and roll on new Ballito 4×4 course

Everyone is welcome at Saturday's opening. Get out to the market-style event and see the best of Ballito's 4x4 world on display.

A playground for the adventurous at heart is now available in Ballito!

The opening of the new 4×4 track at Collisheen Estate on Saturday has grabbed the attention of the off-road fraternity.

It has been Chad Mackay’s vision for a number of years and became a reality through literal blood, sweat and tears.

Putting the course to test with a Suzuki Jimny.

His tenacity to see it through has resulted in a top-class 4×4 track with a challenging series of obstacles.

The course offers an ideal combination of advanced sections for the seasoned drivers, and easier routes for the newbies.

Chad has built the entire course on a repurposed landfill using recycled materials, from tyres, pallets, wood stumps and logs to mud and rocks.

Phase one is the obstacle course and the second phase consists of an outride trail, crossing an abandoned quarry and riverine area with some gritty mud trails.

Suzuki Salt Rock dealer principal, Gisela Witthoft, who will be displaying at the opening, said she was excited about the new offering of a 4×4 track.

“Congratulations go out to Chad for taking the initiative and adding to our community entertainment over the weekends,” she said.
