At Alexandra High School, good values are promoted in a co-ed, non-racial and non-biased environment in which all learners have a place to develop their full potential.
Young people have the flexibility to choose subjects across a wide spectrum, including specialist subjects such as drama, visual arts, hospitality studies, information technology and engineering graphics and design.
Alex offers learners a variety of cultural activities and encourages them to be socially aware and active in their communities and in the environment.
The school has produced many provincial and international sport stars over the years in a variety of disciplines.
Extensive, well-maintained grounds and sports facilities offer a year-round, wide-ranging sport programme for both boys and girls.
Boarders’ after school activities are supervised by live-in boarder masters and mistresses, overseen by two matrons and a superintendent.
Facilities include the entertainment room with monitored DStv, laundry, 24-hour medical assistance, meals prepared by trained chefs and emergency armed response.
Our boarding establishment, Founders House, is located on campus amidst indigenous gardens and rich birdlife in park-like surroundings.
It affords boarders a safe, structured base for their life as an Alexandrian and is a home-away-from-home for the young men and women who stay there. We offer full and weekly boarding.

Sport coaching
The privilege of being part of a team, to represent something bigger than one’s self while developing and displaying the talents with which one has been blessed, makes Alex learners stand out.
Coaches are dedicated and highly qualified. The swimming, netball, basketball, soccer, hockey, cricket and rugby coaches are all committed to teaching valuable life-lessons along with the skills, tactics, ethics and sportsmanship for every code.
