The art of human rights

Art and poetry competition hosted by the Breakthrough Centre for Human Rights Day.

Lose yourself and let your imagination take flight to create a masterpiece about human rights in the form of fine art or poetry.

Breakthrough Centre will be hosting an art and poetry competition to raise awareness of our human rights on Saturday, March 21 at the centre in Etete.

The official slogan for the day is “everyone has a right to life, equality, and human dignity” and submissions must be in keeping with the theme of human rights.

Schools are requested to submit names of three pupils per category: grades one to three art; grades four to seven art or poetry; grades eight to 10 art or poetry and grades 11 to 12 art or poetry.

Art and poetry are separate categories.

Pupils will meet at Breakthrough Centre on March 21 at 10 am to prepare their art and poetry entries.

Artists may bring their own art supplies and judging and prize giving will be at 2pm.

Schools are requested to submit their list of names by March 6.
