Talented poets and hip-hop artists go head-to-head at ‘Hellow December’ cultural series

About 30 singers and wordsmiths competed in Lwazi Lwethu's event.

Bringing clever lyrics and witty lines, some of KwaDukuza’s best young hip-hop artists and poets faced off last week.

The performers competed for pride alone at the Shaka’s Head community hall as part of Ulwazi Lwethu’s ‘Hellow December’ cultural series.

“We are trying to spread the strength of all of our local artists who are brave enough to perform. We don’t want to just single out one or two winners,” said Ulwazi Lwethu’s Simphiwe Sokhaya.

Around 30 singers and wordsmiths impressed the crowds on the day. Sokhaya thanked Simbithi’s Stephne Ashworth for her help.
