ANC to march in KwaDukuza tomorrow in support of Zuma

A series of protest marches both against and in support of President Zuma are planned across the country

The ANC in the greater KwaDukuza Region is set to stage a march against calls for the removal of President Jacob Zuma tomorrow (Tuesday, August 8).

Parliament is set to debate a motion of no confidence against the President on August 8, which was previously scheduled for August 3.

A series of protest marches both against and in support of President Zuma are planned across the country.

The march, which will be led by KDM mayor and ANC greater KwaDukuza Region chairperson Ricardo Mthembu, is set to start at 9am at the SADTU Park in KwaDukuza, opposite Sasol on the R102 and will end at the KwaDukuza Magistrates Court.

“We have noted a collision of the opposition parties and some groupings who are marching ahead of the scheduled motion of no confidence against President Jacob Zuma.

“We view this as part of the opposition party’s desperate and high-risk stunts to capture the political limelight.

“This has also been necessitated by strong information at our disposal, which indicates that opposition parties will continue to mislead our communities to partake in their plans when the motion of no confidence fails,” said ANC KwaDukuza regional secretary Thabani Mdlalose.
