The by-election was prompted by the promotion of former Ward 6 councillor Tammy Colley to the provincial legislature after the national elections in May.

Zwane expressed his gratitude to the residents for their trust in the DA, acknowledging the responsibilities ahead.

Making her vote count was Sphesihle Ntombela.

“The turnout was good considering it was a by-election. The IEC did a sterling job, and I extend my thanks to them. I must also thank Silindile, we had a great campaign without any conflicts, and yesterday we worked well without any hiccups. We all had Ward 6 residents’ best interests at heart. For that, she has my respect,” said Zwane.

He emphasised that the real work starts now and invited residents to contact him at 076 569 9714 if they had any concerns or issues to raise.
