What to do on the North Coast this weekend

From the Crazy for Abba fundraiser to Padel for a Purpose, there is something for everyone.

20-27 August – Sri Ramakrisha Jyoti annual Gita Week celebrations at 6.30pm at Sanctuary Oneness Ashram, Sheffield Beach Road, Umhlali. Supper will be provided daily. All welcome.

21 August – Ballito Neighbourhood Watch public meeting, Anchor Room, La Montagne, 6pm-8pm. Discuss community safety and meet fellow residents. All welcome.

22 August – Ballito Writers Group meeting at the Ballito Library, Compensation Road at 10.30am. Bring your pictures, photos and old magazines to help you craft your unique book with a storyline. All welcome. Contact Peter at 083 441 1950.

23 August – Timeless Trio at Pumpkin Theatre’s Lyric Lounge. Join Morné, Zoe and Robynne for a musical journey through the decades. Enjoy classic hits, Afrikaans favourites and more in an intimate setting.

24 August – Bazaar at Ballito Gesinskerk, Leonora Drive, 8am-12pm. A variety of traditional bazaar food, tea garden, entertainment for kids and a market. Contact Leonie at 032-9461198.

25 August – Tara Blake at The Market from 10.30am-12.30pm and Quiet Storm on Eat Street from 1-4pm.

30 August – Ballito Lions’ “Crazy for Abba” fundraiser at the Pumpkin Theatre, 7.30pm. All proceeds will go to CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa). Tickets are R200 from pumpkintheatre.co.za

31 August – “Padel for a Purpose” at Africa Padel Salt Rock, 38 Basil Hulett Drive from 9am in support of the Rise Up Movement. Tickets R200.

4 September – Umhlali and District Garden and Flower Club meeting at All Souls Anglican Church, featuring wildlife photographer and biodiversity expert Richard McKibbin. Visitors are welcome at R50.00. Contact Linda at 082 3264 310 or Lesley at 082 550 0851.

7 September – PJ Morton live at iZulu Theatre, Sibaya Casino (6pm). Tickets from R295 at Webtickets.
