Things to do in Ballito this August!

Join a 3km walk against GBV and or the Hybrid Heroes event for the fit fanatics.

From activities fit for the whole family to those you can hit up on your own, the North Coast has it all.

9 August – Calling all queens! Grab your hats and heels for the Woman to Woman Conference on Women’s Day and enjoy an inspiring day filled with empowering interactions and engaging conversations with remarkable women at the Wild Coast Sun from 1pm. Tickets are R400pp, available on computicket.

– The Rise Up Movement is calling all men to stand up and walk 3km against gender based violence, 9-11am, starts and ends at Hops. Dress code is black.

11 August – Hybrid Heroes race – the ultimate 6km test of endurance, strength, and agility. R300 entry, tickets at entryninja.com.

20-27 August – Sri Ramakrisha Jyoti annual Gita Week celebrations at 6.30pm, at Sanctuary Oneness Ashram, Sheffield Beach Road, Umhlali. Supper will be provided daily. All welcome.

22 August – Ballito Writers Group meeting, bring your pictures, photos and old magazines to help you craft your unique book with a storyline, Ballito Library, Compensation Road at 10.30am. All welcome. Contact Peter 083 441 1950.

24 August – The Bazaar at Ballito Gesinskerk, Leonora Drive, 8am-12pm. A variety of traditional bazaar food, lovely tea garden, entertainment for kids and market. Contact Leonie at 032-9461198.

30 August – Ballito Lions are holding a “Crazy for Abba” fundraiser at the Pumpkin Theatre, 7.30pm. All proceeds will go to CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa). Tickets are R200 from pumpkintheatre.co.za

7 -8 September
 – Umhlali Methodist Church 100th birthday celebration, 9am – 3pm, tea, coffee, eats and live music. Contact June at 083 628 7707.
