Dawnheights Cricket Club dominates top of the table clash

The team secures a clean sweep with stellar performances in both its A League and KZN Promotional League fixtures.

Dawnheights Cricket Club played their way to a clean sweep in their weekend fixtures at the Gledhow Cricket Club.

First off, the ‘A’ League Dawnheights CC team faced off against Manor CC in a top of the table league clash.

After winning the toss, Manor CC posted a solid 156/7 in their allotted 30 overs, with Zulfikar Ali and Akshay Harrypersad both claiming two scalps.

The Dawnheights run chase went down to the wire, but ultimately proved relatively comfortable on the strength of Ali’s 34 and Robin Bhardwaj’s 28.

Ali’s performance on both sides of the ball earned him man of the match honours.

The team remains unbeaten and eyes a league title with three games remaining.

In response, DUT were scuttled for just 43 to give Dawnheights a 270 run bonus point win.

Sheldon Maduray (3 for 15) and Salman Mohammed Ali (2 for 11) were the chief destroyers with the ball.
