Events you don’t want to miss out on in Ballito and surrounds
From activities fit for the whole family to those you can hit up on your own, the North Coast has it all!
Whether you find live concerts or joining a local community organisation more to your fancy is completely up to you, but rest assured that with The North Coast Courier’s What’s Up On the North Coast events diary your chances of missing an event are pretty much zero.
7 December – The Gallery at Lifestyle Centre presents hUmaNITY, its newest exhibition which runs until January 28. Join for the launch in conjunction with First Thursday’s at 6pm. WhatsApp 072 245 8691.
8 December – The Christmas Tree Christmas carol production at The Litchi Orchard with CityHill church, 6pm. Bring your own picnic bsket and blankets.
10 December – Umdloti Christmas Carols at South Beach Ski Boat Club from 5pm. Bring blankets, chairs and picnic supper, a singing voice and festive cheer. Contact Christy Herselman at 072 564 7874.
– Durban Symphonic Choir to perform at All Souls Anglican Church with a Christmas celebration of song from 3pm. Tickets are R100 per person, while scholars pay R50. Bring your own picnic basket. Contact 032 525 4529.
11 December – Sibaya Coastal Forest Reserve fun run or walk, either 5km or 7km. Registration at 4.30pm. Cost per person R150. To enter contact brett.campbell@rclfoods.com.
14 December – Carols at Sunset at Linc Church in Salt Rock. Picnics, live music, food on sale, kids’ craft corner and more. R100 per car and R50 to enter the Kids Zone. Tickets on sale at the entrance.
15 December – 29 December – Litchi Festival at Verbara Estate. The estate, about 10km up Glendale Road via Shakaskraal, has 850 trees that are almost 40 years old. Daily picking times are from 9am-3pm, and entry is R160 per person. Babies get in free and tots aged two to three only pay R50. You are allowed to eat as many litchis as you like and take home up to 1.6kg. Tractor rides are included and R100 secures you an extra bag of litchis to take home.
