IEC targets young voters with mobile apps

Download the three 'apps' to guide you through the elections.

The elections process has been brought into the mobile digital age with three applications being introduced to make the election process easier.

The three ‘apps’, a voter application, a digital game called IXSA and an election data application, allow voters to access information on the general elections real-time at anytime and anywhere on their mobile devices, computers and via social networks.

The applications are easily downloaded for free from Google Play for Android devices, the Apple App store, Blackberry World, Windows Phone store and Windows Store for PC.

These apps allow voters to quickly and easily access important and useful information.

The Voters App tells you where and how to vote and provides information about the different candidates.

Voters can check their registration status, find their voting station with addresses and maps provided, find answers to frequently asked questions and have access to contact information.

The Voters App will also keep you up to date with social media feeds on Twitter and Facebook.

The 3D digital game app, IXSA, is aimed at first time voters by introducing them to and educating them on the voting process in a fun and interactive way.

The players create their own avatar and then lead their character through election day collecting points as they face challenges throughout the day. Players can post their scores on social media sites to challenge their friends to try beat their scores.

The Election data app simply provides voters with real-time access to election data and result calculations throughout the capturing process.

The applications are available for download here.
