Loadshedding: Eskom to use both stage 1 and 2 on Monday

Eskom said the country's power system remained unreliable and vulnerable.

Rolling blackouts continue tomorrow with Stage 1 from 8am until 4pm, and Stage 2 until 10pm.

Eskom started Stage 1 loadshedding today, which will last until 10pm.

The power utility plans to repeat this pattern on Tuesday, with a high likelihood for Wednesday as well.

Eskom said the country’s power system remained unreliable and vulnerable.

Breakdowns amount to 9 272MW of capacity, adding to the 6 314MW currently out on planned maintenance.

Stanger Northern Grid (Tinley Manor to Zinkwazi):
  • Monday September 7: No loadshedding.
  • Tuesday September 8: 10am to 12:30pm
Ballito Southern Grid (Tinley Manor to Ballito & Zimbali):
  • Monday September 7: 10am to 12:30pm
  • Tuesday September 8: 6pm to 8.30pm
Tongaat CBD:
  • Monday September 7: No loadshedding.
  • Tuesday September 8: 2pm – 4pm

Tongaat Beach:

  • Monday September 7: No loadshedding.
  • Tuesday September 8: No loadshedding.

Belvedere Tongaat:

  • Monday September 7: No loadshedding.
  • Tuesday September 8: 2pm – 4pm

Mandini (16): 

  • Monday September 7: 12pm – 2.30pm, 
  • Tuesday September 8: 8pm – 10.30pm

Mandini (A): 

  • Monday September 7: 12pm – 2.30pm
  • Tuesday September 8: 8pm – 10.30pm

Mandini (B):

  • Monday September 7: 4pm – 6.30pm
  • Tuesday September 8: No loadshedding.
