Dolphin Coast residents are still being turned away from the Salt Rock licencing office despite the system having been repaired.
Last week The Courier reported that the licencing system had been down for nearly five weeks.
The transport department did not respond to our queries but the system was quickly repaired last Wednesday.
However, hopes of the system returning to normal were dashed when the only employee authorized to use the licensing system was booked off sick a day later.

With no backup plan from KwaDukuza municipality, residents are left with no choice but to continue traveling to KwaDukuza to sort out their vehicle licences.
KDM media liaison officer Sipho Mkhize said he could not confirm when the employee would report back to work.
“The Salt Rock office is fully operational following several network interruptions experienced in the past few weeks. Only one employee is authorised to use the system due to security protocols associated with the task.
“At this point, we cannot confirm when the employee responsible will report to work following him being placed on sick leave by a doctor.”
Mkhize said sick leave was not planned and that the employee needed time to rest.
“We appeal to members of the public to utilise the Stanger Motor Licensing Administration Renewal Office in cases such as the above.
“While the municipality endeavours to offer efficient services we ask for calm from individuals that cannot drive to the Stanger office during the aforementioned employee’s sick leave duration.”
